Art (writing, design, and creativity) and Science (analysis of facts and numbers) are both critical tools that you must have to succeed in fundraising. Each is defective without the other. If you have one and not both, you'll do poorly.

Art is what gives us the human connection in fundraising.  Donors give with their hearts, and Art helps us understand that and speak to the heart.  Science gives us the scientific method. Without that, we're guessing what works.  Science uncovers truths that we wouldn't see otherwise.

"Art only" fundraising is a hodge-podge of guesses and personal preferences. All you have to go on is what seems right, and we all live under the illusion that everyone is exactly like us. It doesn't work. And it's very common.  "Science only" fundraising is a mass of facts. It misses the real reasons people give, which are ineffable and emotional. It doesn't work. It's somewhat less common.

This session will look at the fundamentals of using both the right (Art) and left (Science) sides of your brain.

We'll take a practical approach that will enable you to take advantage of your own strengths and knowledge while tapping into the "other" side of your brain. 

Escape the guesswork that bedevils so many fundraisers. Use your whole mind and watch results improve!
